Evangelical Pussy Wuss of the Week

After Rick Warren bowed his head to pray his homosexual friends’ forgiveness for Warren’s support of California’s Proposition 8’s ban on gay marriage, I have decided to institute a Pussy Wuss Evangelical award. Pussy Wuss Evangelical of the Week/Month/Year/Century. Rick Warren shall be our standard.

The two contestants this week are Miley Cyrus and Heidi Montag. The two were quoted at samesame.com.au, Australia’s “No 1 gay and lesbian lifestyle website,” which gushed:

“Miley Cyrus also threw in her two cents, and even garnished her message of support with some holiness.

“Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares!” tweeted Miley. “That’s like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz he’s gay and that is wrong and very sad! Like I said everyone deserves to be happy. I am a Christian and I love you — gay or not. Because you are no different that anyone else! We are all God’s children!”

This new love and warmth which pervades the new evangelical mindset is so touching. But I think that Heidi Montag wins this weeks Pussy Wuss Evangelical of the Week award. She is quoted on the same sodomite web site as saying:

“God says in the bible (sic) that we should love our neighbor and he created us all as equals,” says Montag. “I know in my heart that gays and lesbians should have the same government rights that Spencer and I will when we get married. So, yes, this blonde Christian believes in gay marriage and I hope to one day go to your wedding, Perez!!!”

This contrasts so lovingly with that nasty reactionary Paul the apostle, who rather said:

“9 We know that the law is not meant for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral and homosexuals, for kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching.” (Titus 1:9)

So, Heidi, congratulations. Only Rick Warren so far has sucked up to the zeitgeist as much as you. Here’s to you: the Evangelical Pussy Wuss of the Week.
